Merchant Accounts

Accept credit cards at your site with your own merchant account.

American business is based on EASY buying. Our record setting business system didn't take off until easy credit became standard for large groups of people. Today credit cards account for billions of dollars in business every day.

Credit cards are especially important on the Internet. Along with the amazing convenience of being able to buy almost anything from almost anywhere in the world and have it delivered a short time later to your door comes the demand that you take credit cards.

On the Internet 90% of all transactions are with a credit card!

In the old days (before the Internet!) people would write a check, address an envelope, put the payment in the mail, and wait a few weeks to receive their order. Now a great many simply won't wait. Either take their credit card or lose their sale. This is especially true of upscale buyers. They rarely if ever make a purchase with a check or money order. It's not unusual for a web site to start taking credit cards and instantly boost their sales by a factor of two, three, or four.

Fortunately, banks have realized the massive money to be made on the Internet and are falling over each other to offer merchant accounts to Internet-based businesses. Still, you can expect to pay an arm and a leg to get a merchant account if you don't know how to negotiate the system.

There are several ways the merchant account providers make their money. Some charge a big startup fee to establish your account. Others charge a monthly rental or lease fee of some kind that can add up to hundreds within a few months. All charge a fee per transaction and a percentage of the sale. 30 to 40 cents per transaction and 2.5% to 3.5% of the sale is fairly standard. Many also have a monthly gateway fee of 10 to 25 dollars and a monthly lease fee for the transaction software.

Most companies set you up with a system that works much like the example below. The following two paragraphs were taken from the site of a leading merchant account provider, as they explain their recommended merchant account solution and explain the cost.

There is a $125 application fee. Some others charge as much as $400.00.

The only other expense will be that you need a terminal, software product, or web-based software to process the credit cards. You can buy this outright for about $900.00 but you can also lease it from them for about $40 a month.

Basically, you get merchant accounts for $1,025 upfront or $125 upfront and $40 a month lease for 3 years. Either way, it is too much!

Why make a 3 to 4 year lease commitment for $40 a month to process credit cards online? JustWebit.com's merchant account will set you up with the real time processing. We will give you the same service and more without a large upfront cost or monthly merchant account fee. Our merchant account and secure shopping cart system is already programmed to work online and have the money deposited into your account with no hassles. This will save you 100's of dollars in additional programming and hair pulling frustration. You just add your products to your shopping cart and the system will take care of the rest. Merchants often spend more money trying to get their merchant account to work online then they do getting the merchant account.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Will you use a secure order page or will you need a catalog for more than one product?
  • Will you verify funds manually, or would you like that done on the Internet automatically?
  • Do you plan to modify and change product information on your own or hire someone else?
  • How will you notify your customers that you have received their order and their credit card has been approved?
  • How will you retrieve orders securely? That usually requires sensitive information to be stored on your domain server in a pass code protected area.
  • If you already have a shopping cart, what will it take to get your merchant account to work with your shopping cart to accept real time orders?
  • What are all the fees associated with accepting credit cards online?
  • Where will you get your security certificate and how will you get it set up on a secure host?

Stop and think for a moment. How many times did you answer the above questions with I'm not sure or I don't know? In most cases your answer will be to pay another company or programmer to set your merchant account up online. Typically programmers charge between $60 and $100 an hour to do custom work.

Now if we could show you a way that you could have your own merchant account, and we would give you an easy solution to all of the above questions would that be of interest to YOU!

Now that is exactly what JustWebit.com's 1-stopsolution is all about. Easy cost effective merchant account solution for businesses that would like to accept orders online.
